Pipes and poles jut out in tilted directions, with some having strings of lights swooping between. Starting to actually like the daunting-ness of going direct with a large format. Sometimes what comes out doesn't seem totally like my "style" - such as this - but I made it so it's in there somewhere. Fun to explore.

To shake myself out of a rut, I’m using both bigger paper and brushes, as well as a few other ideas.

It turns out that I wasn't quite finished with my Happy Goat.

Using the wet-on-wet watercolour base, I added more depth, then gouache paints for more definition on the body. Plus details with a white Gelly Roll pen.

I was pleased to find out that my old gouache paints still work, though they're thicker than I remember.
