A few weeks ago I won a Scrawlrbox in a giveaway and got to try a coloured pencil set in the CMYK colour palette! It is such a fun challenge to draw with them, mixing all the layers 😁 It was an interesting experience for two reasons: I actually never use just CMYK colour palette for drawing, and the pencils need careful planning as I can't really premix the colours and see what came out the way I'd do it with paints :)
Trying to decide what to toss up tonight before I fall asleep, but I only really have access to my phone files right now, so I grabbed the old doodles from Calcifur's campaign.
Here's #Wyll from #BG3 the Blade of Frontiers etc etc. He's a nice guy once you get to know him, did you choose his romance? I had him in my party for a while but then changed comapnions, how is it going for you guys? I hope you like the sketch! Another poll will pop up here soon 💜
Lately I've been treating canvases on my ipad as sketchbook pages, letting myself just doodle and then refining the pieces I actually like. Very fond of this silly chubby great white and might make it September's sticker.
Are there any other #artists here who has struggled with having a #sketchbook? Even as far back as high school #art class, I had a really hard time with doing loose #sketches and being too much of a perfectionist with each piece. I’m curious if anyone has found a way to undo the urge to make each piece a finished one. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
This is number one of colour scheme and sceneries and shapes studies. Just whatever comes to my mind to a colour scheme. These are also rough sketches, so don‘t expect sharp or flawless illustrations.
Some art I've done of my most recent dnd character, Zhully (she/they) and her party! She's actually an old oc of mine who is one of my favs so it was a lot of fun playing her in a oneshot & forcing her to talk to people :>
Have had a minor art block for a while where I’m still drawing but not with enough motivation to take anything I’m working on to where I want it to be. So all I’ve got right now are some sketchy redraws of shots from movies I’ve recently watched and some small life drawings from whenever I’ve been out. 🫤
I've mostly been recuperating from the holiday's social activity this past week. I guess it's a good reminder why I've chosen such a recluse existence.
As my brain fog have cleared up a bit I've had the urge to do some sketching to get back into things.
This #mycreativeweek I've done very little as been feeling extremely poorly. Got my Art Graf chalks out this afternoon to play again with my #Dartmoor sketches exploring shapes, form and ideas. I'm planning a series of paintings #artisticprocess #sketches #landscape #form
and here are some wild #sketches of my #Arka people - so that I don't post RL pics only 😅
I've been working on different head angles and exploring their shapes. I also tried to find a way how to draw their ears. I have so many sketches like this, I can't believe XD
A while back, I came up with an idea about a Tarzan-like character who was raised by Bigfoots. I initially designed the character as a boy, but I decided to go in a different direction. She'll be joining the Apex Society's 1930s team in the next little while.
Costume design for the next issue of my comic. Really happy with this one. I mixed elements of a few 30s era dresses together, and came up with the idea of the unicursal hexagram tying the back together, to work in Cynthia's usual Thelema theming. #art #dresses #clothing #costumedesign #sketch #sketches
Agent Tom Shade, an Apex Society character who hasn't shown up since way back in Issue #2, will be making another appearance fairly soon. I imagined the character as a Dick Tracy-type, with a little bit of Will Eisner's The Spirit - though grouchier than either. For this design update, I based some of his facial features on actor Michael Shannon, who I imagine him sounding like as well. #art #characterdesign #sketch #sketches #suits #fashion #pulp
And designs for a new character to be introduced in the next story: Joséphine Wong, the latest in the legacy of Irma Vep (the original being the character from the silent film serial Les Vampires). I based her face on actress Bérénice Marlohe. #art #sketches #sketch #irmavep #characterdesign #lesvampires #costumedesign #pulp
A couple of months ago, I remembered that Xena: Warrior Princes was a thing. And how's much I misses it. So I tried my hand at some quick Lucy Lawless portraits. Hit or miss, but a couple your can see her emerge from the scribbles.
