Slowly managing to finish stuff before Eurofurence. These will travel with me, but you can also get them without being at the con. They are newly made. The foxes one is now the autumn edition with a cute black and orange foxes and leaves lining.

If you want any of them, or something else from my shop, I got plushies and sharks too :neofoxnomhajnervous:, they are available from: https://keeya.arcticfluff.eu/shop/fox-bags

The paws one now has a paws strap for even more paws! Also the Halloween one will probably not be restocked any time soon so it's the last one I will have.

I know money is always a bit tight, but I'd be super happy for your support if you buy something from me or just get some fox snacks (the tip jar) from my Ko-fi page.

made a little quilted mat for my tiny bedside table. mostly for practical reasons to soundproof the surface!

i listen to stories at night to help me fall asleep and have to be very careful every time i put my phone back down so i don’t wake my partner up. now with this quilted mat i can rest easy without making a sound :)

for the batting / in-between layer, i used an old retired duvet.

Finished all the black bead clusters along the lace, have done maybe a third of the orange beads. Need to rest my hand and elbow for a bit, but it's progressing.

A daylight of the pretty striking front edge of a warm brown linen jacket in progress. On a wide black linen lace with a geometric diamond motif and sharp scalloped edges there are small clusters of five black glass seed beads sewn on. They're quite shiny. Near the edge, between spaces in the lace design, there are tiny tiny little orange glass beads in a line. They're also quite shiny, but don't stand out as much as the black beads on black, being quite small and almost the same colour as the jacket fabric, which is beautiful and fine and a deep warm tone. The uncovered rolled lapel facing shows the line of tiny stitches attaching the black lace, each scallop one by one. Sini's pale pink hand is holding the jacket.

Ok mastodon, should I put aurora rhinestones on this here messenger bag?

Is there an itch.io style site for buying and selling sewing patterns?

A kind of stitch.io, as it were.

I completed a project for an upcoming exhibition and handed it in apologetically, the people arranging the exhibition were thrilled with the quality of the work I'd produced and in such a short time.

Hi! I'm Monday, I'm a vtuber-to-be who loves tea and sweets and indie and retro games! I'm still making my design and picking the first games to test. But I love her so far and I'm excited to share my journey here!

For now this space will be an excuse to talk tea and also to document my learning process. (Vroid textures are intense!) I'd love to hang out with fellow tea fans, baking fans, and geeks!

What do I want!?

I want a really cute embroidery pattern I can buy/print at home of a crow in shades of black, purple, and blue!

This post is unserious but also potentially well-being saving.

Spooky Halloween shirt complete!

Husband has always fancied a proper cool Halloween shirt, so I picked this fabric in secret and banned him from the sewing room until it was complete.

I could only afford the absolute bare minimum yardage, and didn't have much control over pattern placement (also no room for cutting errors, eek!)

But it all worked out and as of tonight he's seen it and tried it on and appears to love it. All good!

I will get proper posed photos at some point but for now here it is on my decidedly more curvy dress form!

Main annoyance is that my topstitching is a bit wonky, and I'm normally pretty good at topstitching. Oh well.

My # and # hobbies merge in this throw pillow. I pieced the embroidery with some remnants of Essex linen. The piping and backing are made from purple shot cloth, something that had been hiding in my stash. The pillow insert is wool in organic cotton. I'm happy with the result!

# instructions give this new to me stitch, often called English stitch. There are video tutorials, but I hate watching a video tutorial when it could've been a description and images, so here's some bad photos.
It's much like a butted seam, with the seam edges whipstitched together... But with a twist. Skip one layer, sew through three, repeat mirrored.
(Buy Scroop Patterns patterns, they're great!)

A very close up photo of Sini sewing the centre back pieces of an 18th century bodice together using a very specific hand sewing stitch. The brown linen lining layer and the teal fashion fabric outer have had their seam allowances turned under and within. The needle and thread skips one layer of lining and goes through both outers and the other lining layer... Going down like a fishtail braid or a ladder, alternating sides.
A very close up photo of some finished seam, still closed tight. There are teeny tiny little dark indigo silk thread stitches visible, alternating across the abutted seam, only barely visible on the lining layer's edges. There are light pink basting stitches all across the pieces, though the focus in on the finished seam. Sini's hand is holding the piece and her nails are freshly filed into pleasant oval shapes.

Think it’ll be a few more days until I’m done with these. Can’t wait to combine all the parts and turn them into some awesome earrings. I love what I do, it’s weird and it could just be my flavour of tism, but my brain just finds complete harmony in ridiculously elaborate embroidery.

An embroidery hoop with organza backing, on top is a partly done embroidery project which uses gold threads. The bottom pieces have been entirely encased in gold thread and the top templates have additional parts added, including a lattice section with teal iridescent vinyl underneath
In this image the inner core of cotton cord and card is shown, on the far right is an example of the core covered in gold thread. <br />Behind all of this however, because the organza is sheer, a ragdoll cat is shown sleeping on the lap of the embroiderer.

Finished quilt displayed on a design wall in full; wonkily pieced letters read: fuck your "quilts shouldn't be political" ACAB even the quilt police. The quilt background is scrappy navy fabrics, the oversized ACAB letters are pieced from scrappy yellow fabrics and the remainder of the letters are scrappy whites. All the white "O" letters have a sawtooth star in yellow surrounding them. The quilting is done with yellow thread in a jagged pattern repeating across the quilt and it is bound with a yellow-on-yellow stripe.

I'm just finishing off the binding on this quilt. It's for the Quilts for Care Leavers organisation here in the UK. The quilts are chosen by young people and given as part of their Christmas gift package at one of the Christmas Dinners. The whole idea was inspired by the poet Lemm Sissay, writing about his experience of the care system. He says he was never hugged, so we make these 'virtual hugs' for the young people.

I've decided that this year I'm going to try to finish my unfinished projects.
I've been hemming the some fabrics to be used as tablecloth, I fixed the back of my punch needle "Starry Night" hoop, and I started to work on making my custom Spoonflower fabric into 4 kitchen towels.
Here is the work in progress, hanging from the sofa because there is never enough table space!

Content warning: Bats for adoption!

I've been working on this bat wing bag for a while but I've been having issues with my sewing machine. I think I got it sorted out now and I made a lot of progress today. Just need to put the drawstring through and it will be done! A little bit late for Halloween but I will be using it anyways 🦇

And where do you like to buy affordable fabric online?

try adding # and plural # and # to your searches — it’s annoying, but people use all of them. There was a whole group of us discussing it a few years ago and we never could settle on a single term back when we were figuring it out)
