I'll have to summarize. <br /><br />First touches on artificial beings created through magic, like Golems and Hephaestus' handmaidens. Then there's the story of the mechanical soldiers that guarded holy relics of the Buddha. Then Yan Shi of 4th Century China who built a lifelike artificial man out of wood and leather. Then a mention of the automatons of the underground civilization the Vril-Ya. Then the clockwork woman Olimpia built by Dr. Coppelius. Then the word robot being coined by Rossum's Universal Robots. <br /><br />After that, there's the Freemechs - freed robot workers from Counter-Earth who set themselves up on the Counter-Earth moon of Kapek as a safe haven for mechanical lifeforms. <br /><br />Then the story of Robo Sol Incvictus, built in the 50s to battle the superhero Sol Invictus - but reprogrammed to act just like him. He was eventually relocated to Kapek.<br /><br />Finally, there's C.R.A.S.H. (Crimefighting Robot Army with Synthetic Hivemind), an army of robots resembling crash test dummies who share a single mind. They were built by Krackle Inc. but the program was downsized after one of the units broke away from the hive-mind and attempted to destroy humanity in the early 80s.

You mean it happened a second time?? She assured Cold the Apex Society will pay a sizable reward if Cold can get them safely out and back to Earth. Cold, cleaned out by his rocket pack's repairs, needs the money. Too much text to copy it all out here, so I'll summarize.<br /><br />A Brief History of Ancient Egyptian Contact with the Otherworldly<br /><br />Predynastic Egypt was briefly ruled by a vampire queen as a vassal for the vampire city of Selene. Her frozen body was kept in the British Museum until it was destroyed by Dracula when he took over London in 1972.<br /><br />Pharoah Nephren-Ka established worship of Nyarlathotep, which the Sphinx was originally a tribute to. <br /><br />The Fourth Dynasty Egyptians invented teleportation technology and used it to travel to Mars and Venus. This collapsed when a race of Martians used their tech to invade Egypt. They lost their knowledge. <br /><br />The text mentions rumours of Ancient Egyptian contact with the Draco Reptilians, but says they are unconfirmed. It then says that stories of an invasion by parasitic mind-worms was most likely a mythologized account of an STD picked up by Egyptian off-world explorers. <br />There's a montage of "selfies" taken by a time traveler named Nick of Time in front of the Sphinx. The first one is the monstrous Nyarlathotep one. The second is the classical Sphinx as it actually looked in the Fourth Dynasty in real life. The third is from the Martian invasion of Egypt, where he gets spotted by a Martian. The fourth is the modern-day Sphinx, and Nick of Time looks relieved to have escaped the Martian. <br /><br />There's also a crude wall-painting of an Egyptian offering food to a bird-like Martian. The caption says the painting was made on Mars.
