You can kinda tell this face was modeled off a 3d model that was modeled after a real human

A digital "pencil" rendering of a face. The face is round and mostly masculine, with thick eyebrows and hooded eyelids, and they are gazing calmly camera left. The person's hair is black and shiny, and pulled up into a bun, around which is wrapped a white ribbon. The whole thing is in shades of very slightly cool grey.

Stayed up way too late doing # oops 😅

Again, not actually bad? When did I get decent at eyes?? It must be pretty recent.

Marked sensitive because semi-disembodied eyeballs

Two pairs of eyes, one on top and one on bottom, with the handwritten words "Bad Eye Tuesday" between them. The background is a medium grey-beige and the eyes are in dark blue and pale peach. They're done with a watercolor-like brush for an effect somewhere between pastels and watercolor. The top eyes are facing viewer right, and are dark with hooded lids. The bottom eyes are facing left but looking right, and have European style lids and lighter irises. Both are light-skinned.

Ay guess what, more studies! Was honestly quite fun to do those even if they took absurdly long to do.
These were also part of the mentorship I did and, yes, I will dump most of what I did there on my page :smug:

Three digital art clothing studies of skirts in varying hues of turquoise.
Two digital art studies of clothing, one of which depicts an oversized shirt, its front being stuffed inside invisible pants, the second of which depicting a regular hoodie.
Three digital art studies of sweaters, all in a similar shade of light green in front of a light mustard yellow solid backdrop.
Three digital art studies of clothing, two of which depict skirts (one an artfully folded longer one, the other one a more a-lined piece), one a t-shirt, all of which done in a similar light shade of red.

Broken Hero - II

This brittle part of us makes us stronger, eventually...

Less destruction, different lighting, composition and texture.

A broken status of the upper body of am unknown super hero. it seems to be made of iron and skin

I keep forgetting to post... so I've been working on different things for practice. First -Pencil on grey toned paper - from a photo ref of Jensen Ackles. Second watercolour in my Arches sketchbook - Jared Padalecki. Should have drawn this from the reference instead of from my thumbnail sketch but hey, live and learn.

Pencil sketch of bearded Jensen Ackles, done on grey toned paper with white pencil highlights
Watercolour painting of a bearded Caucasian man (Jared Padalecki) wearing a blue/grey beanie and open necked top. The background is abstract in shades of green

Warmup photo study based on # # 2 and 3-value distillations. This is challenging because the foliage is complex and visually cluttered. In the last minute I realize I was trying too hard to "copy" from the photo and tried to focus on balancing the light and dark values for satisfying visual design instead. Tackling the final will be interesting.

2 and 3-value distillation paintings based on a photo of a black man in a cream shirt and black pants standing in the middle of a bunch of white-green foliage turned to right with a look of peaceful contemplation on his face.

I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know why this took as long as it did... I couldn't get the face right, and kept painting and re-painting and ditching the whole layer and painting again...

I still don't like her face, nor the hair. The only saving grace is that it's still an improvement over the painting from two weeks ago, which this was an attempted repaint of.

*grumble grumble sdfsdfsdf*

Second image is painting from two weeks back.

With life being extra crazy lately, I decided to take yesterday off completely and just practice my instruments for the first time in forever.

I made this! It's really sloppy, it's not a masterpiece of any kind, but it was a lot of fun to make it up as I went.

The phrase "Counting Down The Days" kept running through my head.

It feels good to play music again. Though my left wrist and fingers are in pain this morning lol.

Jumping on the # # bandwagon with value distillations. Going to see if I can take this piece to completion too

My first r/SketchDaily exercise. The prompt is "midsummer day".

Reminded me of when I was in Mexico. It wasn't a midsummer day, but this prompt inspired me to do something with a temple dedicated to the Sun in an ancient setting.
