A new version of Roundcube Photos has been released. New in 1.5.6 is the feature to share images with Mastodon, including multiple images. The manual generation of tokens has been removed, as the plugin now logs on to a Mastodon or Pixelfed instance as an autonomous app. The Timeline view and various internal improvements and bug fixes are also new. I'm happy to see PixelFed being adopted by many more people and how it will highlight the Fediverse. I also fear that the lovely lovely images posted here on Mastodon with descriptions will go away and will be segrigated to another platform or that people on PixelFed will not pay attention to photo descriptions as much as they do here on mastodon. I hope that people will remain as vigilent there about #.

Hey @dansup - I know you are pretty busy with the launch of @loops but is there any word on when HEIC files will be able to uploaded to @pixelfed website (specifically on pixelfed.social)? I've got a backlog of photos from the year and my thumbs are tired of posting on my phone, LOL.

Social networks, even those built on the principles of decentralisation and federation, cannot be more free and open than # as a whole. I used to have an account on pixelfed.social. Now it's gone. With all my 8 followers and 8 photos. 5 # were sceneries, 3 showed me in the # (with CW). The latter were of sentimental value. I didn't spend much time on that instance. Followed Server Rules. So I can only guess at the reasons. Not a single notification. Just erased. #

Are there any # platforms that don't compress or others ruin image uploads? # reduces many images to under 2000 pixels in either direction, usually in the 1600-1800 range from what I've seen.

As I spend time writing the image descriptions when uploading them to Pixelfed it is a shame they “fall off” when re-shared.

  • Rare exemple de maison de tradition espagnole à Mons ! la Maison espagnole remonte aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles, mais elle fut fortement restaurée au début du XXe siècle. Alors que le rez-de-chaussée compte deux baies du XVIe siècle, le premier étage et l’étage supérieur s’ouvrent sur plusieurs petites ouvertures de tailles différentes du siècle suivant. Une construction en briques y a été adjointe au XVIIe siècle. Restauré au XIXe siècle, la Maison espagnole fut rétablie par la suite dans son état primitif.
  • Zeldzaam voorbeeld van een huis in Bergen in traditionele Spaanse stijl ! Het Spaanse Huis dateert uit de 16e en 17e eeuw, maar werd aan het begin van de 20e eeuw gerenoveerd. Alhoewel de gelijkvloers twee ramen uit de 16e eeuw heeft, hebben de eerste verdieping en de bovenste verdieping verschillende openingen uit de volgende eeuw. Een stenen constructie werd in de 17e eeuw toegevoegd. Het Spaanse Huis werd in de 19e eeuw gerenoveerd, maar werd dan in zijn oorspronkelijke staat hersteld.
