I've been failing to scan much so here's a bunch of sketchbook drawings. Yes I have been into drawing backpacks lately. # # # # #

A little turquoise character with a large forehead and prominent nose holds on to his backpack straps as he walks.
A little boy, drawn in red ink and some red crayon, looks worried while wearing a backpack.
A little character in baggy clothes peaks out from under a large tartan cap.

Hollowed out trunk of a common boxwood tree, the third boxwood I've drawn and the second with this sort of structural issue. # # #
Gnarled base of a tree with a tall cavity with twigs, sticks, and smaller stumps at its base.

Another drawing using an Inkvent colour(An advent calendar with little ink bottles each day). The ink is called Nightfall so I obviously thought of Knightfall and Bane! This one is a really dark blue with green glitter.# # # #
A drawing of the batman villain Bane, he has huge muscular boobs and arms. You can see a few sparkles in his mask.

I got an Inkvent calendar! Today is Masquerade, it's a reddish brown with a little glitter in it. # # #

At the heart of Glasgow, surrounded by traffic jams, sits a piece of Glasgow's past, known as The oldest house, built in 1471, it is the Provan's Lordship. At the back lies a garden which is an oasis, it feels like stepping back in time. Topiary hedges and medical plants, and what a glorious spot for a picnic on a sunny day...

I have been inspired by many of you to try some # observational drawing. It has been decades since I've sat down to draw like this. I concentrated mostly on value and form, without much attention to line direction or style.

A pen and ink drawing of a comfy chair in a corner, lit by a window above. A house plant stands in a cylindrical planter at its side.

I've been having fun drawing my # in different styles.
I haven't drawn any humanlike characters for a while and it was good fun shading the different textures on this.
There's something satisfying about finishing a whole piece using nothing but a black Biro!

(Finished this in time for # yesterday, but forgot to post :blobfoxpat: )

This is a piece titled "As Long as There is a Moon" featuring my childhood cats Ashes and Misty. It is a few years old, but I wished to post it for # # # # #

What is a story you like to tell about your pet? 🐾
A black and white pen and ink illustration of two cats sitting on a wooden moon that looks like a stage backdrop. The black cat on the left has dragonfly wings and the gray cat on the right has butterfly wings. Their tails entwine in a heart shape.

Happy Halloween! This year, I decided to pay tribute to the genre defining classics (and early precursors) of the silent era.

Pen & Ink, with white acrylic, on Bristol Paper.

CW: Eye contact
A black and white pen and ink illustration of classic silent movie characters from either horror, or earlier progenitors to the genre. Count Orlok from Nosferatu is to the left, the largest character looming over the scene, looking down at us. He casts a dark shadow over curtains behind him. Over his shoulder is Gwynplaine, from The Man Who Laughs, doing what he does best (while crying on the inside). Behind him, in a foggy haze is Quasimodo, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, looking downward, forlorn. Erik, from The Phantom of the Opera stands in front of Count Orlok, reaching downward, with pained sadness on his face. In the foreground, Cesare, from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, reaches forth his hand towards Jane while she is sleeping. He stands in front of a window, pointing in Jane's direction, drawn in a German Expressionist style. There are ink splashes in both white and black which add texture and depth to the scene.

Some villains I designed for a future comics project. # # #
A stout bald headed character with gauntlets and a circular crest thing on it's chest. It has its hands on its hips.
A skeletal looking villain with a black cape and lizard frills around its head, laughs maniacally while holding a walking stick.

# # # This took a lot longer than my normal, about 1 hr 45 minutes. Pilot Metropolitan and DeAtramentis Document Ink (brown).
Pen and ink drawing of a lot of hanging ropes on a boat

I'm squeezing some # in whenever I feel like it. And I just felt like it! 🙃 Here's from #

# #
Pen and ink drawing of a jug with flowers in it. It's standing in front of a wooden wall. Some light is coming from the right. Parts of the object get lost in the shadows. To the left is just dark space.

Well whadaya know? It's # ! Here are the four previous years' illustrations. I tend to stretch the definition of mermaid to be something a little more... Lovecraftian. What will I come up with this year? You'll have to wait and see! # # #

Marked sensitive for nudity, violence and general Eldridge terrors.
A highly detail black and white illustration in pen an ink showing a scene of a knight embracing a mermaid, he looks passionate, she looks sad. Her winding tail is connected to a hideous sea monster, unbeknownst to the knight. The waves crash on a rocky shore, the knight's griffin is waiting to the left. The creation carving through the waves behind them is serpentine and made up of several skeletal remains of various other sea creatures, with two bright staring eyes. The sky is dark, approaching nightfall.
A detail black and white illustration in pen an ink. A underwater scene set in a cave adorned with choral and stalactites. Various fish-like mermaids with faces resembling angler fish are feasting on an unfortunate diver, who is being torn limb from limb. To the right we see one of the mermaids has his head, still in its old diving helmet, with a horrified expression on his face. The mermaids tails are connected to a giant nautilus. Beams of light filter through the ceiling in the background.
A two tiered scene rendered in pen and ink. The top tier is above water showing a sunset with a beckoning mermaid and to the right, a ship being burst in half by a giant webbed hand. As the scene goes down, we see under water. The mermaid's tail is connected, like that of an angler fish' light, to a horrible sea monster. It's head is a hammer head shark with a third eye in the center. Its upper body has a human like torso with arms. The arms have a tiger shark texture on them. The chest has a pair of staring eyes and the rib-cage is partially exposed, as it it had a battle with another monster. The lover body is a mangled mass of fish heads and eels all entangled.
A two tiered pen and ink illustration. The upper tier shows a ship in the distance and a mermaid from behind. Under water we can see her tail is connected to a giant angler fish like monster, with several sharp teeth, awaiting another victim. It's right hand upheld with webbing and giant claws.
