Another fresh image specifically for #. It took some drive to find this spot since Gold Coast is scarce for nice rocks and rock platforms. I have always enjoyed # action, whooshes and splashes.

I used Hoya ND8 for this shot.

Feast your eyes on my new & improved otter for #! I’ve painted so many otters but could only find this one picture for comparison, from a little over a year ago: https://mastodon.art/@KarinWanderer/109445033759759404

The Green Sea Turtle is the largest of all the hard-shelled sea turtles. The largest sea turtle is the leatherback (if you have time, look up leatherbacks, they are so cool!) Many different turtles have green shells or skin, but Green Turtles are called that because their diet of seagrass & algae actually turns their body fat green.

Red Lionfish, one of the first watercolors I put in my # shop. Capitola Dreaming is a recent painting, also in my shop. Started in August 2020, my first online shop was kind of a pandemic project. It's been interesting, and now it will close in just a few days. Prints, decor, gifts are here for a short time ➡️ https://society6.com/elizabethkennenwatercolors

With all of the horrible things happening in the world, it’s nice to find the wins. Especially in the area of our environment. A group called Coral Guardian is restoring coral reefs, and it’s quite magnificent.

These photos represent 7 years of work on the Indonesia’s Hatamin Island. In this they have increased the fish population by 5x with 53k corals restored.

More wins like this, please.

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge! Fifteen minutes later, the clouds opened up providing fantastic lighting. I composed the image to highlight the vast bridge expanse plus the rocks anchor the bottom. Eyes get a chance to rome around the photo.

Can you see the #?

Here's a super old # I still like a lot! It was inspired by a band called „The Princess and the Pearl,“ (they had a # page!). I think I'm inspired by music a lot subconsciously but this is one of the few times where a particular band had a direct influence on an illustration.

a sunset landscape of a lighthouse on a rocky island on the right side of the painting, extending into a pale blue ocean on the left. past the foreground, dark rocks jut out of the sea, misted over by pale yellow fog, and past those, a bright sun sinks into the ocean, casting orange light on the waves. the clouds coalesce around the sun, circling it, as the sky fades from red to the deep purple of night.
