I tried to resist, but here are some images from the last few years. This is why I hike, this is why I take photographs.

From high on a mountain, the view looks down over cascading ridges of pine trees. In the distance, waves of mountaintops rise above the smoke that’s settled in the valley. The sky above is blue.
Towering cliffs are reflected in a beaver pond in autumn, the trees surrounding the pond a mix of green and gold. The sky is partly cloudy.
A mountain stream cascades over a rocky slope and into the valley and disappears into the pines that also grow on the mountains rising to the right, a burst of clouds above them.
The view looks down into a lush valley of pines and grasses where a mountain stream meanders through meadows. Beyond, wooded mountains stand one behind the other, the sky partly cloudy.

When I think of the things I enjoy the most about New Hampshire, I think about the smell of the spring breeze delicately perfumed with the delightful scent of our state flower, the purple lilac. And, she ain't so bad to look at, either!

We have such fond memories of that evening! 🩵 It was one of the best nights we spent in Norway. The atmosphere was so special, the silence almost eerie and the view simply unbeatable. 🚐🌄😊

We're already looking forward to our next adventures in the far north! 🇳🇴

Gravel road in the wide landscapes of Norway. The sun is just setting behind a bank of clouds and makes a sun star. A black van stands at the side of the road.

Another fresh image specifically for #. It took some drive to find this spot since Gold Coast is scarce for nice rocks and rock platforms. I have always enjoyed # action, whooshes and splashes.

I used Hoya ND8 for this shot.

an evening seascape with dramatic skies and black and orange rocks with some water flowing over the rocks from the incoming wave

'Observer' is today's # post. I waited for a gap during a stormy dull morning and as I was getting ready to pack up it finally opened. The gull and myself stood there in awe.

a dramatic seascape with the stormy sky and big waves. There is a gap somewhere and sun rays are beaming through adding to the drama. The seagull is standing at the beach watching the show.

More impermanent art on fallen leaves. Here, a sycamore. It’s a bit like writing a letter then burning it. There’s something very healing in drawing on a leaf, with certain intentions and feelings in mind, and then letting it go. Under the tree that it fell from, then into the river that keeps it alive. A very meaningful little ritual I can’t recommend enough. 💚

Me holding up a bright yellow sycamore leaf against the backdrop of the tree where it came from, and the river that feeds it. The leaf is covered in intricate black doodles, mostly little vines and swirls and leaves.

For # I repost this wolf spider found on the wall of the house this summer.

Started cleaning its legs when I took the photo and then it run away. The body was nearly 2cm long.

September 11, 30 degrees Celsius during the day. I was hoping that the heat would end at the end of August, but it didn't. How can I get used to the "new normal" weather?

Spending time at a waterfall on hot days can be incredibly refreshing and beautiful. The sound of rushing water, the cool mist in the air, and the lush surroundings can create a soothing and rejuvenating experience.

Small waterfall in the forest. Moss grows on the rocks.

No idea what's this. Maybe apple rose?

edit: it's unanimous, we're convinced it's a yew tree. Thanks, everyone 😀

Back out and about today. A short stroll around Lodge Lake in Milton Keynes.

Here is a Little Egret who flew into a tree right before my eyes. (more to follow).

I've been having fun making images using this new "superblack" backdrop I received recently. This photo was taken outdoors in my garden.

This is the Coral Honeysuckle (***Lonicera sempervirens).***

I'm making this photo public domain for artists (or anyone, for that matter) to use for their work. I'll be releasing more images over the next few weeks.

A photo of the coral honeysuckle, the flowers of the plant are primarily pink-red with yellow and orange stamens and stigma.

The flowers are at the top of the image and attached to the green stem of the honeysuckle vine. Six green leaves of the vine are also visible, one of which has water droplets.

❄️ Snow line, less than two weeks ago in the Bavarian Alps. Despite the snow present on the upper heights of the mountains when we arrived, I couldn't believe it snowed again while we were there ... in April.

Photograph of four angles of a mountain, all sloping from the edges, towards the bottom. They are covered with forests, or textured boulders and rock face. The front two angles are snow-free, the rear two angles are snow-covered.

Magpie Falls was the last stop on the day's list of adventures when I was in Wawa, Ontario. It's beautifully scenic, and there's a hiking trail leading to another waterfall, but by that time I was ready for some dinner.
