It is done. the SRS Bogavante, ready to take of to explore the surface of new worlds. I’ve been detailing up to 2:30 am, so now I’m lacking of some sleep hours, but I like the result. Problem, as usual, is to stop adding details. You need to know when to stop or risk ruining the work. I hope you like it.
SRS Bogavante now with ink and base colour. Being a lobster was not going to be of another hue than red. Now it looks like a Belgian “ligne claire” comic. Tomorrow I’ll add light and shadow and details. Maybe even a little Easter egg…
Roleplaying in #WorldOfWarcraft is what inspired me to become an artist from seeing all the amazing art people have for their OC's and the reason I fell in love with character design.
And one of the first characters I drew was my Gilnean Druid and I figured she deserved an update!
When removing raku pottery from the kiln it takes steady nerves, hands, and the right tools. It also must be done quickly, so not too much heat is lost before the wares are placed in the post-firing combustion chambers.
As I fire multiple pieces at once, I always develop a plan for their removal to maximize glaze effects and my personal safety. I think the effects are worth the extra effort.
In Greek mythology, a little owl represents or accompanies Athena and has become known as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom attesting to the staying power of the Olympians. The whispers of Athena's legacy are everywhere.
The symbology of the owl has often inspired my own journey. The ability to see through the darkness of life and find knowledge is a potent totem.

Research at the border between North and South Korea. This visit to the Peace Observatory, with fences hemming the Han River, brought into sharp focus the fact that borders are a shared fiction even when disputed.
The research is primarily for the project #MappingGender led by Anders Duckworth, for which I am composing music exploring the social, physical and political power dynamics around borders on landscapes and gender.

It's been a wonderful journey so far working with @andersduckworth on #MappingGender over the course of 2 years or so on extensive R&D for which I've contributed sound, concepts, composition, tech, images and video. Thank you so much for inviting me into this project Anders.
Mapping Gender explores how society controls and shapes landscapes and human bodies, engaging the audience in discussions of borders, boundaries and their effect on people. It's an invitation to enter a world of #NonBinary perspectives of the demarcations of land and of body.
