Coniferous and deciduous trees alike fade into the distance beneath a washed-out sky that hints occasionally toward blue. I'm a professional # I live in the # UK. My # artworks are hand stitched, primarily with hand dyed wool. Using a free hand technique I “paint with thread and yarn”. I'm a # and # # predominantly but also dabble in # My website is https://www.cognissart.co.uk/ if you want to find out more 😊 and here is some of my work 👇

Stitched artwork depicting a dark moorland hillside with a tumble down dry stone wall leading away from the eye. The sun has just set and there is a bright line of sunshine on the horizon beneath grey/purple clouds
Stitched artwork depicting silver birch trees with autumnal bracken in the foreground
Stitched artwork depicting a snow scene with bare trees on the horizon. A stone wall crossed the centre and footprints lead through a gateway in it
Stitched artwork depicting a summer woodland with light and shade. A very breen pallette with tall thin tree trunks in brown/grey. Close mounted in a brown double mount. Viewed on an angle to show texture.

So, the prints for the letter 'N' are now up on Fluid-Visions. Here is one of my favourite N-pieces, Nightfall. Fluid art is so organic. Here we have the night sky, with stars, and the silhouette of a tree.

*Nightfall* - Stars glow in the sky behind a tree as night falls.
Made in 2020.
Fluid art. Digital art edited in GnuIMP. Using public-domain/royalty-free images.

When I think of the things I enjoy the most about New Hampshire, I think about the smell of the spring breeze delicately perfumed with the delightful scent of our state flower, the purple lilac. And, she ain't so bad to look at, either!

Another fresh image specifically for #. It took some drive to find this spot since Gold Coast is scarce for nice rocks and rock platforms. I have always enjoyed # action, whooshes and splashes.

I used Hoya ND8 for this shot.

It is always a little shocking to see the fields at this stage. As if nothing will ever grow there and that we have reached that point of no return in human history. But rain is coming down now and they will be green again in a couple of days.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Landscape photograph of a brown and bare field, with a wavy relief, having the look of the surface of the Moon or the desert. Forest is bordering the field in the back, under a blue sky with white clouds.

'Observer' is today's # post. I waited for a gap during a stormy dull morning and as I was getting ready to pack up it finally opened. The gull and myself stood there in awe.

a dramatic seascape with the stormy sky and big waves. There is a gap somewhere and sun rays are beaming through adding to the drama. The seagull is standing at the beach watching the show.

Daily # from a previous year as spring is currently refusing to load…

# # and possibly a #
Looking down on a stream tumbling over rocks; sun sparkling on the water. On either side, the banks are green with moss; trees lean over the stream, their trunks greenish too - not quite in leaf, but getting there.

I recorded it too! But a comedy of errors resulted in having to render the video three times before i could upload, and it's still being transcoded at the moment. I'll link that in the replies once it's ready.

A magic # and it's time-bending #-companion enjoying the night on Harris ^__^

I like # a lot, they're so chill and cool. This was probably inspired by John Maher's night photography of the #:

Vector drawing in dark greens and blues of a night-scene with a highland cow on a small peninsular. The cow's reflection in the water reflects the milky way in the sky above. There's a crow sittig on the cow's back but in the reflection it is somehow in flight.

Home 1: where the taxes are paid

Home 2: where the landscape makes the ticker go flippity-flop overjoyed with delight

290 miles driven. Favoured Nice Place™, then up to Sutherland where the sunlight on quartzite and gneiss was mind-blowing.

It is *SO* good to be back!

Mountains seem pretty permanent, and yet not just an earthquake, but weather, water, and time can change their form. Boulders cascading down a draw once were part of a mountain, and now make their way downward in a (generally slow) shift and change to the landscape.

I'm not very good at landscape photography, or I've never done enough of it.

I tend to prefer abstract photos, of which I will post more.

But here's a shot of Golitha Falls in Cornwall taken with my previous camera but two, a Nikon D70s.

I really need to get a wide lens!

Spending time at a waterfall on hot days can be incredibly refreshing and beautiful. The sound of rushing water, the cool mist in the air, and the lush surroundings can create a soothing and rejuvenating experience.
