Day 5 of #

Just a doodle I did a few years ago, the original has gone but I still have a photo of it because I like the colour and can’t quite remember how I made it (it was probably whatever was left on the palette mixed together 😅)

BMW are a bit keen on the old copyright strikes so this one never made it into the Redbubble shop.

The original, however, could be yours: https://www.angyl.co.uk/shop/p/bmw-e30-touring-original-artwork

Original marshlands landscape oil painting by Tisha Mark, "Standing in a New Light" 20"x20" oil on linen (2024). Landscape painting featuring an orange-toned sky with atmospheric cloud formations appearing to rise up from the first light of day over a coastal marsh in autumn. Subtle light and color from the sky reflects in the water, and appears to bounce off the textured marsh grasses.

Your art history post for today: by Georges Garen (1854-1913), "Embrasement de la Tour Eiffel," original illustration for the lithograph produced for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris, watercolor and gouach on paper mounted to thicker paper stock, 520x330 mm (20 1/2x13 inches on 24 1/4x17 in), sheet, photo from Swann Galleries, Dec 15, 2022. # #

From Swann Galleries: “Garen's bold, colorful image of the Eiffel Tower, the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, and its grand pavillions, alighting the night sky above the twinkling Seine beautifully portrayed the wonders of the world-famous spectacle. It was chosen as one of the representative images of the Exposition and this original painting was made into a mass-produced lithograph on one of the latest printing technologies…

The lithograph was immediately disseminated throughout Europe, enticing visitors to the Exposition and establishing Garen's image as its iconic face.”
Description in post.

How would a dragon wear a toque?

I know a balaclava isn't a toque, but someone suggested it and I thought it was fun.

Last poll, the hoard of scarves narrowly won out over the super-long Doctor Who-style scarf.

Cast yer votes!

Five images of a doofy-looking dragon making different attempts at wearing winter hats. 1: Holes for horns and ears. 2: Giant hat covers everything. 3: Toque covers just the horns. 4: Toque covers just the top of the head, with socks covering the horns and a tiny toque over the nose horn. 5: Blaaclava with horn and ear holes.

I saw it in the bookshop window, brightly lit in the early morning gloom.

I *had* to tell Clive.

I ran out of town and danced, elated, around bushes across the meadows, to the tree.

Clive was there, cross-legged, his back against the trunk, facing away to where the sun would soon rise.

"Clive! My book's out!"

Clive lowered his booklight, turned to me and smiled.

"And quite a good book it is."

Was I procrastinating by drawing again? Yes. But the photo reference cat in the curator prompts was calling out to me. Can't be helped.

My [OC]Anshrilda the Chronomancer. She originally was just a seer, but then I thought it would be cool to turn her into a time mage. I haven't drawn her for quite a while, but she is one of my favorite ocs :mastolove:

The Purpose of Life
(Mini Comic Monday # 152)
# # # #
Title: The Purpose of Life (Mini Comic Monday # 152) Description: Comic strip made of 3 identically sized, vertical panels. In the first panel there’s a cosmic being with a head like the sun and stars for nipples; cosmic dust covering the crotch area. Text in the first panel reads “Children of the Universe, rejoice!” The second panel continues the image from the first. We see the hands of the cosmic being holding a small planet with a moon. The planet and the moon are floating above the hand. There’s text that reads “For the purpose of Life…” The third and final panel zooms in on the planet in the palm of the cosmic being. The planet is the familiar little blue marble known as Earth. There’s text that reads”… is to Live.” Mini Comic Monday is a series of experiments, short-form comic strips. New strips shared every Monday on Patreon, then made public and shared on socials 28 days later.

A little update on the baby elephant I'm modeling using the free SDF Prototyper Blender add-on…

Added a few non-SDF elements: the tusks and ears, because the current version of SDF Prototyper doesn't really allow creation of such shapes yet.

Next steps: mesh the SDF object, join with the non-SDF objects, then remesh in Sculpt Mode, and add some minor refinements.

Making a first model using the free SDF Prototyper (V2) add-on for Blender.

The add-on uses Geometry Nodes, and since the UI is a bit quirky, I find it easier to change parameters and connect nodes directly in Geo Nodes.

More updates will follow in this thread.
