Here’s another odd little duck I showed at the weekend. I find that triptychs offer an interesting dynamic while creating compositions.
Haven’t had much feedback on this one so I’d be interested in what people think.

An acrylic painting of a bald, orange coloured man with no eyebrows and impressive earlobes

Sheltie: my 42nd # # (10"x10") is a fairly conscious effort to go back to something a bit more accessible than the abstract I did last time. I used some of the same # I did with that chinchilla earlier, and once again I find it a helpful technique for this sort of piece. # # #
a portrait of a Sheltie dog painted in acrylics

Some thumbnail sketches last night (ink) based on photos I’ve take , and a speedpainting today! Hoping to do A Real Version of these 2 sooner or later.

A photo of 2 pages of my sketchbook. On the left are 4 small thumbnail drawings in ballpoint pen. 3 are explorations of the same mountain landscape (the bottom one being compositional thoughts in the form of squiggles). The fourth is of a waterfall viewed from above.
On the right page is a quick 1-hour painting showing the same waterfall/composition as the corresponding thumbnail, rendered in black & white, but with metallic green and gold paint representing the moss on the near and far banks sandwiching the waterfall.
Also the waterfall mist has the usual swirlies. ^_^

I painted this 'Dancing Kachina' during a Stan Kurth workshop. He is a great artist and excellent instructor. It is more abstract than I normally work, which pleases me.

This is an semi-abstract painting of a dancing kachina done in oil pastels with an acrylic background.

Tumult. Acrylics on 80x80cm canvas. Had a bit of a chaotic mental health blip yesterday. This helped.

@Curator and all... At the risk of getting inundated...

I wonder if any of the brilliant artists here on .art or elsewhere have either their own or recommendations for a # or a complete # on painting. My own current interest is in # painting, but in the long term I'm interested in # and # too.

Being new to # I thought I'd add some of my # here!
This is my first experiment with using # pens alongside #.
I don't think my old camera picked up the metallics very well though, unfortunately.

# # # #
Stylised drawing of canine skull with fur, eye, ear and tounge in metallic pens.

Semi-abstract landscape of hills and uplands using acrylic and water soluble pastels. # # #
A semi abstract landscape of sweeping hillsides and what looks like a small stream running across from the left. To the middle is a bigger structure like a hill with a stony outcrop.

It took a bit longer but I'm happy to have finished a new #. Still drying, though.
On canvas, 30x30x4cm. I love the deeper canvasses, they have more of a statement in the wall. Photo with flash for better rendition of the colors.

The background is similar to Caspar David Friedrich's painting "Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer", but the main figure is replaced with Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher series. He is looking over a rocky landscape in the clouds.

Back to work after a nice holiday break. Feeling organized with the new year. Am using the # getting things done method to put my action items on a list and review it and check things off. Put things in an inbox as they come in and then deal with them. As I was reading about these organization methods over the past year, I made this painting with a grid and everything in its place, Saturday Systems, acrylic on canvas. 18 x 24 inches # #
Colorful grid of 12 squares in brown, mint green, brushy painterly colors of the rainbow, yellow, pink, purple and more colors. In each square is a colorful shape: circle, spiral , flower, there are also diamonds, a cube, and a rainbow pie chart

I saw a hashtag I loved - # and so here's an art I made (I'm a #, not a #, please excuse the glare 😆)

Starting my Art Advent Calendar with the first day & first week, # - using some older work. Today is a 2006 # # # of # that is 4’x6’. It was one of the few commissions I’ve ever done. I had my florist friend create an arrangement for me. Good memories.
Share/Boost and join in by sharing your best work using the # hashtag. No need to make it daily, but that’s my goal.

One more # fundraiser pet portrait complete, despite all of my procrastination. Probably about five or six hours of time into this one.

I don't think I quite got the eyes but this seemed like an OK point to stop. Process details/pics in follow up toot.

# # on canvasboard. # #
Acrylic painting of a fluffy cat with large green eyes. The cat is in 3/4 profile, looking somewhat to the right side. The painting is somewhat loose but over all in a fairly realistic style.

I'd like to get back to painting in acrylics. I'm not sure I'll be able to reliably tap into what it was that drove some of my favourite pieces (like this one, painted on some spare card in a random squat I lived in many years ago), but I found it really cathartic.

Apologies for low resolution, I need to rescan this entire portfolio with actual modern hardware.

Yep, procrastinating by looking through old pictures here, thanks for asking.

I dit it \o/ First illustration using the famous Holbein's # !
I think this paper wasn't good though, as I had to use way too much water to get smooth, regular lines (look at this poor areca palm 😥) but I'm definitely going to find a better paper and try again 💪 And remember, a lot of plants are toxic to pets, look for the "Toxic and Non-Toxic Plants" list on the ASPCA website 🌱

Picture of a colored illustration (and you can partly see some acrylic tubes on the right): one cat resting on top of a wooden stool/footboard, and a little black cat under it trying to grab the first one's tail. They're surrounded by various house plants and the scene takes place on a turquoise carpet.
