Sheltie: my 42nd #acrylic #painting (10"x10") is a fairly conscious effort to go back to something a bit more accessible than the abstract I did last time. Put things in an inbox as they come in and then deal with them. Starting my Art Advent Calendar with the first day & first week, #hope - using some older work. Today is a 2006 #StillLife #acrylic #painting of #flowers that is 4’x6’. It was one of the few commissions I’ve ever done. I had my florist friend create an arrangement for me. Good memories.

I'd like to get back to painting in acrylics. I'm not sure I'll be able to reliably tap into what it was that drove some of my favourite pieces (like this one, painted on some spare card in a random squat I lived in many years ago), but I found it really cathartic.

I dit it First illustration using the famous Holbein's #acrylagouache !
I think this paper wasn't good though, as I had to use way too much water to get smooth, regular lines (look at this poor areca palm 😥) but I'm definitely going to find a better paper and try again 💪 And remember, a lot of plants are toxic to pets, look for the "Toxic and Non-Toxic Plants" list on the ASPCA website 🌱
