From the November Patreon collection. This was my third time coming back to Signed Distance Functions, or SDFs, and the first time I actually finished a sketch I'm happy with that utilizes them. I'm pretty happy with the foundation I made with these Patreon cards, and looking forward to expanding on it! Hope you guys enjoy! :)

This series of generative art explores Signed Distance Functions through intricate linework, created by a pen plotter. Each piece presents abstract, geometric forms that seem to hover and shift within negative space, evoking depth and dimension. The shapes are defined by layered hatching lines with directional and intensity variations, giving a textured, tactile feel. These forms—a cube, a floating island, a wave—invite interpretation as they appear both solid and ethereal, grounded yet dissolving at the edges. The series explores themes of emergence and transience, challenging viewers to find meaning within abstract shapes and textures. Close-up images reveal precision in each line, highlighting the structure that shapes these minimalist yet complex abstractions.

I wish # lasted longer, but I guess if they did I wouldn't have opportunities like this... # #
Abstract cyanotype shows ghostly white shapes of peony petals scattered randomly across the top three-quarters of the print, with some white noise/grunge also present throughout against the Prussian blue background

Oils, plastics and other pollutants floating in the Gowanus Canal, Brooklyn, 2004.

I took a class to learn to draw this month and while I’m not going to make a living at this I feel so much more comfortable doodling in my notebooks and like I can keep enjoying it going forward

A series of drawings in pencil and charcoal of an apple with a comparison picture of the red and green apple in the middle
A bright swirl of colours abstractly calling to mind a sunset over water with a green tree in the left<br /><br />But like really abstract and swirls of reddy pink at the center of the sunset on the right
Another drawing of an apple this one is in pencil crayon and looks a little older and has brown spots and stripes mixed with the greenish yellow and red patches
Abstract shapes in charcoal with blending and stripes in the middle to make a variety of patterns

2019-12-09 - Coeur-Spirale

Like always, I had prepared a ton of pieces to share while I was out of town and I did exactly none of that. Oh well! (:

A couple years ago, I was out in the middle of a snow storm, getting as many photographs as I could. On my way home, I spotted the Norfolk Southern 1198 train just sitting on the tracks. The engines were idling, and when they turned on the lights, I knew they were getting ready to move on.

Prints and more are here - https://beautifulsunphotography.com/featured/norfolk-southern-1198-during-a-snowtorm-deb-beausoleil.html?product=art-print

... Summer is in full swing ...

Besides my drawings, which are rather "wild", I also draw "clearer" shapes from time to time, but also without planning them. 😉
So I am always curious what will show up on the canvas. 😎

A drawing of abstract forms reminiscent of animal-like creatures. Black and white ink, drawn on orange handmade paper. Size: 13,6 * 20,5 cm. Drawn in 2022.

Heavily inspired by the amazing Peter Draws. Very relaxing to just let the lines and pen lead your hand instead of worrying too much if what you draw will look good or not.

An abstract fountain pen drawing with black ink on white bristol paper. It's depicting an organic mass made up of fleshy chunks and very thin tentacles visible beneath it but lying in the shadows. Clouds from which the creature seems to emerge take up the bottom right of the image. A few tentacles on the creature's back produce spores that form new clouds above it.

Hi, I am Jennifer, a # abstract artist with # and a chronic fatigue condition.

My # link for # #:

I also print my own # - unique mugs that is. Every monoprint has a unique mosaic pattern applied to it.
I make the patterns myself, based off my own art - so it is not only based off a pride flag, but real art!

Those are available at my # store:

Abstract art with bright colors, mainly red, yellow, purple. These colors spin clockwise, a touch of white in about the middle of the spin (which is slightly off center to the right). On the right side, there is some green-ish blue mixed in as well. Each color patch has cells mostly visible against the color it intersects into (i.e. purple has purple cells on red background). The red patch is the biggest, followed by the purple one and the yellow one is the smallest. The spin ends into an area of white, more visible on the bottom and left corners and just some visible on the right side. On the right and bottom side it the white is broken up by partially broken feathery features moving off the canvas, starting all the colors of the painting and a lot of very small cells.

Circle with a rainbow gradient. From the centre point, seven rays are coming out. They resemble broken glass. Each one has a different colour. One for each cheeky sin, the seven deadly sins.

Currently working on a light and shadow project. Captured up these beauties - no filter just cropped shadows gathering on the ceiling…

Soft shadows in peaks and folds of greys, pinks and yellows. At the left of the frame a darker shadow - possibly and head an shoulders of a figure moving into shot
Gently folding shadows in greys, pinks and yellows. A distinct dark shadowy figure is moving into the frame. The look like they are shrouded in a cloak.
A dark, cloaked outline of a shadowy figure dominates centre frame. Behind them soft folding shadows in pinks, yellows and greys.

“Switching my brain from object producer to service provider is a matter of survival. If I’m an object producer then I am competing against mass-market entities that exploit labor in order to produce a thing that can be hung on a wall to brighten up someone’s home. I can’t compete with that! I don’t want to compete with that!" 1/

I painted this 'Dancing Kachina' during a Stan Kurth workshop. He is a great artist and excellent instructor. It is more abstract than I normally work, which pleases me.

Tap for detail view.

150 centuries ago chert ( a sedimentary rock composed of microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline quartz) was being turned into weapons as well as tools.
