Acquerello e inchiostro su carta
Genzano di Roma
Questa torre fa parte di quelle che un tempo erano le mura del borgo antico di Genzano. Sullo sfondo a sinistra un angolo del palazzo Sforza Cesarini, la cui porta di ingresso era un tempo l'unico modo di accedere al borgo.
Mura e torre con il tempo sono state trasformate in abitazioni e cantine.
Rimane il fascino di questi luoghi.

In un giorno di sole, una pittoresca stradina di un borgo italiano sale tra edifici antichi. La scena è dominata da un'alta torre rotonda con piccole finestre e persiane verdi, affiancata da case con balconi e panni stesi. Il cielo azzurro con nuvole bianche fa da sfondo, mentre il verde rigoglioso di alberi e cespugli aggiunge vivacità. Un dipinto ad acquerello cattura la luce vivida e le texture dei muri in pietra, evocando l'atmosfera tranquilla e autentica di un luogo senza tempo.

Still playing with the colors and doing monochromatic studies. This one separates really nicely when painting.
I also did some mixes too, to see how it reacts.

But honestly most fun was to paint this fun "hair" on the bird, which I painted without using white or masking fluid.
And I'm super happy how it turned out. Everything else comes just second.

Heading up Mount Jo

From an extended NY State holiday last year. Saw many, many chipmunks. They are everywhere. All the time.

I’ve decided to pursue the elusive ‘loose style’ and am following the advice of the mighty Paul Talbot-Greaves, to hold the brush at the end. I know it’s not complete, but I’m not inclined to do any more. I’d be interested in candid and hopefully constructive comments.
