A drawing of a harvest mouse climbing a wheat stalk.

Dear #, #, # community of #, I would like to ask your opinion on these two choices of a new brush I want to buy. I presume there MUST be a different to the two. Ideally I'd like to buy them both, but lack of budget atm. I already have a Reubloff Kolinsky and feels too soft. Maybe it's me not being used to brushes, maybe it's kolinsky hair... Hence my question :)

Got a watercolor brush so I could do some inking on paper

here's what I drew/inked as a way to test it out.

A Winsor Newton Cotman watercolor brush and Black Indian Ink
A inked comic page of an adult lion father conversing with his son and letting him observe their home territory from the high ledges of their giant rock home

Ionization. A watercolor painting for # Day 5. This is inspired by a haunting thread from several days ago (https://zeroes.ca/@subjacentish/111444423550650844) applying lessons from Hannah Arendt to the pandemic, the context of her discussion being the extreme atomization of European societies following World War I.

A watercolor painting showing about 33 stylized figures on a light wash backdrop grading from green at top to gray at the bottom of the painting. At the top of the painting are three sets of green figures with joined hands. Right below these sets are two figures in gray who have started falling through space. Below them are 22 figures falling in random orientations painted red and blue.

Seriality. # Day 3. I'm continuing with the theme of representing systems as pipes with the bottommost set having devolved into a tangled complex mess.

# #
A watercolor painting in vertical aspect showing a series of four sets of pipes running horizontally with several valves on them and an outlet always on the right. The sets of pipes are in increasing complexity from top to bottom with the bottommost set being a tangled drippy mess in greens and purples.

Contrasts. # Day 2. The struggle between a communitarian vision and an individualistic society.

An ink, watercolor pencil, and wash sketch of an aerial perspective view of the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey offshore with a heavily-trafficked six-lane highway running along the shoreline in front of the abbey.

Finally got my brain to do some art! Sketched up this little dude for a welcome home card. I think it's a cute lil guy! ^^ hoping this means art block is finally broken!!

Cranky mandrake in a pot with a sign saying "Home Sweet Home". Has some leaves and dirt around it and a couple vials for potions.

This is my last piece at the art school. I can't go for a while and I have the feeling I am improving better alone. So I quit. Tbh I've been doing a lot of those still life and it got boring. I am not entirely sure where I'll go artistically now, I just know I want to paint. I'll miss my classmates and the ambiance but staying in a place where it doesn't feel right is not for me. # # #
Oil painting of a still life in dark tones.

Garden Snail 🐌 I might have to make mini prints of this cutie.

Patrons on my upper tiers have access to a timelapse video. You can watch me draw this from start to finish!

2019-12-09 - Coeur-Spirale

A walrus painted on watercolor. BTW, I've noticed that engagement on the fediverse is way down than it was 2-3 months ago. I do hope people return. Personally, I use almost nothing but the fediverse services now: PixelFed, Mastodon, Lemmy. The chronological feed, and finding new users to follow via hashtags, is the only thing that makes sense to me. These recommendation engines on the big social media is a total # of usability. You can never be found there, if the algorithm doesn't like you for any reason.

"Exercise bird II"

The first bird drawing was quite okay, but since I stumbled across @loren yesterday I wanted to try my hand at another bird drawing, this time even with a little color.

Hopefully, the next days my inner eye visits me back and let us paint inner pictures, this reality stuff is really crazy....

Just a quick portrait sketch in the sketchbook.

My plans was to paint last night, but my back seems like it doesn't agree with those plans.

Goauche commission for @galekobold !

We're being a lil witchy this halloween! what do you think she's summoning?

# # # # # #
A small kobold has a pentagram shaped incantation on the floor with four candles at the tip of each end of the pentagram.

She is doing some sort of ritual, a book in front of her scrolling through pages on it's own as the smoke wraps around her raised arms

Doodled up during an art jam while someone was visiting. I used my tri-tone color pencils. I love the effects it can do but also forces me to not focus on perfect coloring.

a fox resting on a flat rock, looking tired and annoyed. It's a picture drawn in shades of green.

A little drawing from a bigger thing I'm making - gives me autumnal vibes 🍂

How are you guys cozying up? I lit my fireplace for the first time a couple of days ago, its magic 💫

# # # # # # # #
A creepy running through a rugged autumnal forest, barren trees, rocks, fern and moss.

Polyamorous Pride :blobcathearthug: I was originally drawing it for 'Love's stronger than fear' prompt, but it ended up being more about my feelings for my partner: freedom, serenity, openness… There's just two of us, but polyamory affects our day-to-day life anyway, & it feels liberating.

CW: nudity (nothing lewd, actually)

Waterclour drawing in the colours of the polyamorous pride flag (blue, red, and black). There're five persons holding hands, and they're diverse in their gender expression, body type, hair, ethnicity, etc.

Black metal kitty, hehe. :blobCat_blanket: I love sphynx cats so much, their skin gives me sensory joy.

CW: direct eye gaze

An ink drawing of a sphynx cat. Its eyes are bloodred, and the corpse paint on its face is streaming onto its neck. The cat stares directly at the viewer. Behind it there's a circle of a white spider web on the black background.

Attempted a guy version of a character from an old headworld. Doesn't even look like the character in question, but I like the drawing on its own.

Inspired by my 2017 art. Done in ballpoint pen just like old times.

# # # # # # # # # # #
A ballpoint pen portrait of a goth-adjacent looking guy with shiny black eyes. He has dark eye makeup and dark lipstick. His expression is neutral but friendly. His hair is gelled back, sides and back are shaved. He's wearing a turtleneck with a coat over it. The turtleneck is filled in with horizontal stripes, the coat is filled in with squiggles.

was just doodling away in my sketchbook, thinking about folklore around the world... And also thinkin about Mario Sunshine a little bit too. A wonderful mood.

That's the best proof that chronological feeds, hashtags, and sharing, DO work.

Recommendation engines do NOT work. They're gatekeeping and biased towards a few accounts only, making everyone else just dumb consumers.

So in addition to #, you can follow me on Pixelfed too if you like my art, since I mostly post there @EugeniaLoli@pixelfed.social

I did Froggyfall 2022. Which was a frog themed daily prompt list for the month of October by Munespice (twitter). But I drew my axolotl characters.

02 Old book - I had to paint Kuzko the bookworm for this promt. And of course this old book is from the library and well kept, it just faded a little.

A watercolor painting of a cartoon anthro axolotl reading a book, almost as big as himself.

Do you get tired of trying to fit in? Bending over backwards, tying yourself in knots trying to be what everyone thinks you should to be? Why is it so hard to line up with the other plastic flamingos?

Society is obsessed with numbers: your weight, your clothing size, your bank account, and your social media popularity are just some of the ways you're measured.

What do these stats help you understand your own experience of the world? Of all the records about you, which one do you feel best represents you in real life?
