Decided to go for Medusa for this, they did my girl dirty.
Her turning to stone when looking at herself might be pop-culture but I liked the concept so much I had to go for it 😅

Spooky Halloween shirt complete!

Husband has always fancied a proper cool Halloween shirt, so I picked this fabric in secret and banned him from the sewing room until it was complete.

I could only afford the absolute bare minimum yardage, and didn't have much control over pattern placement (also no room for cutting errors, eek!)

But it all worked out and as of tonight he's seen it and tried it on and appears to love it. All good!

I will get proper posed photos at some point but for now here it is on my decidedly more curvy dress form!

Main annoyance is that my topstitching is a bit wonky, and I'm normally pretty good at topstitching. Oh well.

In this ⁠🌜moonlit-conservatory , the flowers come alive by its magic. The hummingbirds chirp and enjoy their time, and the Flying Ducks take off in a v-formation around the conservatory. Then, a loud yelp rings throughout the room. The Ballerinas, who were getting ready for their nightly dance, Tiger Lilies, and Monkey Face Orchid come to see the commotion. One poor dog flower, a Dietes Bicolor, got the fright of his life when the light shone directly on the Darth Vader plant.

Sterling the purple pencil is a sullen, surly bastard with a heart of lead; he can barely tolerate you all.
Another HALLOWEEN concept costume. Last year I was a crow, and now, a comedic sharpener and pencil duo in the vaudeville scene.

Sterling is my first puppet I've ever made. He's been brewing for the past year but due to *LIFE* he's been on the back-burner. So I used the spooky season to force my hand and bring him to life. # # #

Happy Halloween! This year, I decided to pay tribute to the genre defining classics (and early precursors) of the silent era.
