Earlier this year I made a model for a little gadget that could help me with perspective drawing. It’s basically three sticks that show three right angles. I had a friend print it out for me in exchange for telling how to use it XD. Been using it pretty extensively myself, since and it fits well into my little pouch :).

The image depicts a man walking along the top on a concrete wall or barrier somewhere deep inside a forest. There is a large metal pipe sticking out of the side on the wall with a puddle of water at the base of it. The puddle is littered with trash and old metal barrels.

A little update on the baby elephant I'm modeling using the free SDF Prototyper Blender add-on…

Added a few non-SDF elements: the tusks and ears, because the current version of SDF Prototyper doesn't really allow creation of such shapes yet.

Next steps: mesh the SDF object, join with the non-SDF objects, then remesh in Sculpt Mode, and add some minor refinements.

Making a first model using the free SDF Prototyper (V2) add-on for Blender.

The add-on uses Geometry Nodes, and since the UI is a bit quirky, I find it easier to change parameters and connect nodes directly in Geo Nodes.

More updates will follow in this thread.

First post here on # !

I'm going to slowly start posting my past, present and future artwork here, starting with my sculpt of Pot Boy from Elden Ring, made entirely in Blender.

A little bit about myself: I'm a 24 year old 3D artist from Austria, working mainly with ZBrush and Blender, focusing mainly on Characters and Creatures. I also have a website where I sometimes post Blogs and other artwork :)

A large concrete structure. In the middle of the structure there is an entrance with a sign above it that reads "Sector 03". Three people are patrolling the street outside the entrance.
A seemingly abandoned house in a field. Next to the house is some sort of old massive antenna.
A large concrete wall with a circular door/portal. Through the door you can see a single tree bathed in an orange light coming in from the side. The ground is covered in grass and foliage.
A large empty concrete hall. Two men are guarding a large door.

Folks! Starting today and running through Friday, we're gonna be playing a game to promote the upcoming release of Dejah, my very hypnotic art program. What kind of game? Like madlibs, but for motion graphics! I'll give you a topic or theme, and you hit me back with funny or weird ideas, then I animate. I'll be posting 3 prompts a day, and will have an hour to animate each.

To start: reply with EITHER a shape OR an emotion. Be creative!

Night time mograph. A lot of time, my process is to have an idea, put it together quickly, and then go: "there's something cool here... but it looks like shit."

So I keep tweaking and adding things until it doesn't look like shit anymore. The coolest parts of this one are around halfway through, and it's pretty long.

Friends and acquaintances, Thundercats and Thunderkittens, I'm absolutely overjoyed to announce the release of the Dejah Lupe Studio Shareware Edition, a toy for your screen and eyes, creating bright and astoundingly alien animations in a window on your desktop. Free of charge and available for all your psychedelic graphics needs.

Hello friends! My name is Kerem; I'm a photographer and I'm also interested in 3D modeling & digital illustration. I enjoy Synthwave, Deep House & Dark Ambient music.

Like the most, I'm also migrating from Twitter and looking for a Mastodon server to share my work. It is really hard for someone like me who using Twitter as his main social media since 2008.

I hope I can make meaningful connections here too.

With my on going health issues and life in general eating up my time and motivation/mood/energy, there is no way I can finish this 3D sculpt in time for SotN 4th anniversary ;_;

Finally got around to do the rough posing though!
It still needs some adjustment of the legs and paws, merging and all the fur details. The base needs the Infused Flowers and grass too.

The launch trailer for Spirit of the North 2 is so exciting I can't wait for this game <3

Epiphany: the Snap function of the Vector Math node will turn a gradient into discrete steps, which means... fully banded colored lights with no gradient falloff to be seen.

Camera is closer, otherwise setup is identical (updated nodes in thread).

Not perfect:
pink light has orange and blue artifacts,
blue light has a white outer band,
white light has a blue artifact
orange light looking good as gold, lol

Different base colors also produce different results.

Trying out the Blender 4.0, here's my thoughts:
- Light linking is fun
- New Principled BSDF is a massive improvement over the old one
- Native AgX support
- UI needs a lot of work. I can't get used to the lack of a search bar for the Shift+A menu in nodes and the viewport seems to flicker in solid view a lot. Some textures don't appear in solid mode either

I had fun recreating a 2D image from the amazing artist chiai_tea (Shirley) on Instagram!

This was lots of fun but also a very slow process. I feel like I learned a lot about a bunch of different topics including lighting and texturing.

Are there any folk on here that do Blender work? I'm after something rather specific that I haven't been able to find or the effect isn't working as expected when I tried to do it solo.

I am expecting to pay for this.

I load my SVG layers into Blender and I would like to be able to re-create the effect as pictured, where a light source from behind illuminates each layer of paper.

1st picture is the real thing.
2nd is my attempt 😔.

It doesn't look as good as I've not managed to create the right settings.
