Finishing the Stories Carousel is the last major task before shipping Stories to our mobile app (TestFlight first).

We’re caching the carousel today and invalidating on Story view/create, but that’s a poor UX. I’m building a Redis-backed fanout + view state service that will generate carousels on-demand, cutting latency and scaling cleanly.

Pixelfed Stories on our official app with the story carousel having 4 stories, My Story, dansup@pixelfed.social and two others which have a reduced opacity to indicate they have been already viewed.

Good question, I wasn't aware that Signal supported Stories, but I am using Instagram as the inspiration.

I think Signal is pure swift. No idea if that works with your react native stuff.
